Clemson Men’s 2008-09 Tennis Schedule Announced

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson Men’s Tennis Schedule has been announced by first-year Head Coach Chuck McCuen Thursday afternoon.

Clemson will play 11 teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season. This group includes the defending National Champions Georgia Bulldogs and NCAA Semifinalist and ACC foe Virginia. The Tigers will play 13 home matches in 2009.

Clemson will start the fall segment of the schedule at the Blue Gray Invitational on September 12-14 at Montgomery AL.

The Tigers will play at the Georgia Tech Invitational on October 3-5 in Atlanta. Clemson will participate at the ITA All-Americans in Tulsa, Oklahoma in early October and the ITA Regional Indoor Championships at Chapel Hill, NC on October 16-19. Clemson will also participated in the Crimson Tide Invitational at Tuscaloosa, AL on October 24-26.

The Tigers’ first dual match will be against the Citadel on January 24. After matches at the William And Mary Invitational, Clemson will play Central Florida on February 6, and ACC-foe Miami on February 7. The Tigers will have an eight-match home stand beginning on February 11 through March 14, as Furman, Alabama, Navy, Dartmouth, Georgia Tech, Florida State, College of Charleston, and Stetson are all coming to Tigertown.

Clemson will play at Virginia on Friday, March 20, and at Virginia Tech on March 22. Clemson will also play South Carolina in Columbia on March 25.

After home matches with N.C. State and Wake Forest on March 27 and 29 respectively, Clemson will play at Georgia on April 1. Clemson will play at Boston College on April 3 and Maryland on April 5. The Tigers conclude the regular season with home matches against North Carolina on April 10, and Duke on April 12.

The annual Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis championship will be April 16-19 at Cary, NC.
