Clemson Lady Tigers Take on Charleston Southern Sunday

Fans that have a ticket to the men’s game at 3:30 can get in for free for the contest. Clemson enters at 3-3 overall, while the Buccaneers are 5-2 on the season.Charleston Southern is in its sixth season under Julie Goodenough, and the Bucs like to get up and down, and have take nearly 200 three-point attempts in seven games. CSU is hitting at a .352 clip, while Clemson is allowing opponents to hit just .276 of their attempts on the season, including holding Illinois to an 0-8 mark last game. Last season, Clemson held the Buccaneers to just 3-29 (.103) from behind the arc as Clemson won by a 85-53 count in Littlejohn. Clemson is 12-0 all-time against the Buccaneers, and holds a 10-0 mark at home. Clemson’s young team is off the a 3-3 start, and 79 percent of the team’s minutes and 75 percent of the scoring has gone to freshmen and sophomores. Nikki Dixon leads Clemson at 14.5 points per game, and has also managed 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Quinyotta Pettaway has already more than doubled her point total from a season ago, and is averaging 11.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest, having tallied ten rebounds in back-to-back games and eight or more in five of six game this season. The sophomore leads the team in field goal percentage at .518 (29-56). Seniors Shaniqua Pauldo (10.2 ppg, 5.5 rpg) and Lindsey Mason (6.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.7 bpg) have helped on the back end for Clemson and on the boards, and have brought a veteran presence to the floor. Following the game with the Buccaneers, Clemson will travel to Michigan to take on the Oakland Grizzlies on Dec. 9, before taking finals week off from competition.
