Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (7-0) defeated Loyola (Chicago) 61-40 on Nov. 24 and Wright State (75-51) on Nov. 25 in the San Juan Shootout in Daytona Beach, Fla.
  • The Tigers are 7-0 for the first time under Audra Smith and the first time since the 1998-99 season. Clemson opened the year 11-0 in 1998-99.
  • As a team, Clemson ranks in the top 25 in the nation in three defensive categories: ninth in field-goal percentage defense (32.0), 18th in scoring defense (53.1) and 23rd in total steals (77).
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads Clemson in scoring with a 12.7 points per game average and also ranks first on the team in assists, with 26, and minutes played, averaging 31.4 per game.
  • Sophomore Aliyah Collier is second on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg) and leads the Tigers in rebounding, with a 7.8 per game average. Collier is coming off of her second double-double of the season, as she posted 13 points and 14 rebounds in the Tigers win over Wright State.
  • Freshman Kobi Thornton, who earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors for Nov. 14-21, is averaging 9.1 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game (second on the team), and leads the Tigers with 10 blocked shots.
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards has 25 steals on the season, a figure that ranks sixth in the nation. Her 3.57 steals per game average is 15th nationally. Edwards is second among all ACC players in both categories.

Series Information:

  • Clemson has a 1-2 all-time record against the Black Bears, with the first meeting between the two teams coming during the 2006-07 season.
  • The Tigers traveled to Orono, Maine last season, on Dec. 18, 2015, losing 75-42.
