Clemson Notes:

  • The Tigers (2-5) are coming off a 4-3 loss in their ACC opener at Wake Forest on Feb. 18. Clemson won the doubles point against the Demon Deacons, and sophomores Marie-Alexandre Leduc and Fernanda Navarro won their singles matches at No. 3 and 2, respectively.
  • Navarro, who is currently unranked, upset the 70th-ranked singles player in the nation when she defeated her Wake Forest opponent Emma Davis 6-1, 7-5 last weekend.
  • Leduc and sophomore Ayan Broomfield have a 2-1 record in dual matches at No. 1 doubles this spring, and a 7-2 overall record in doubles in 2016-17.
  • Freshman Constanza Gorches has been solid in doubles play for the Tigers this spring, with a 4-2 record in dual matches.
  • Clemson’s 2017 roster is made up of one junior, five sophomores and two freshmen.
  • Head Coach Nancy Harris is in her 20th season with the Tigers. In her first 19 seasons at the helm of the program, Harris took the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament 17 times, including 15-consecutive years from 2002-16.

Series Information:

  • Clemson has a 43-3 all-time record in the series against Furman, which began in 1976.
  • The last time the two teams met, on March 13, 2013 in Clemson, the Tigers won, 6-1.
