Clemson Golfers 3rd After Two Rounds At The Farm

Dalton, GA–Clemson’s golf team is still in third place, but just four strokes out of the lead as Larry Penley’s team heads into the final round of the Carpet Capital Classic in Dalton, GA. The Tigers have a team score of 570, just four strokes behind leader Georgia Tech. Georgia is second at 569.

The Tigers were led on Saturday by senior John Engler, who had a 70, a strong comeback after he had a disappointing 76 in the first round. Lucas Glover and D.J. Trahan both had rounds of one-under-par 71.

Glover stands tied for fourth in the individual race with a two-day total of 139, five-under-par. Trahan, who had a 69 in the first round and 71 in the second, stands tied for sixth at 140.

Ben Duncan shot a 76 on Saturday and Gregg Jones, playing in his first event as a Tiger, shot his second straight 75.

The tournament concludes on Sunday with 18 holes.
