Clemson-Furman Soccer Match Cancelled

Oct. 23, 2002

The Clemson-Furman men’s soccer match that was postponed on Wednesday, October 16, has been cancelled for the 2002 season. The match will not be played this season. The match was postponed because of the tragic wreck that involved the Furman players.

“There was simply not a date that was agreeable to both schools,” said Clemson’s Senior Associate Athletic Director, Dwight Rainey. “With upcoming conference tournaments and other scheduled games already in place, it was impossible to find a day that was suitable to both teams. We have had a long series with Furman in men’s soccer and we look forward to it resuming next season.”

Clemson will play host to Appalachian State on Wednesday and play at Maryland on Saturday night in an ACC contest.
