Clemson Football Players Arrested

Clemson, SC-Clemson University Police arrested three Clemson football players today (April 3) on multiple charges stemming from several incidents on campus between July 30 and November 30, 2000.

The students, all sophomores, are Tyrone Dewayne Dickerson, 19, of Rock Hill, Marcus Keenan Lewis, 20, of Lithonia, GA, and Paul White, Jr., 20 of Columbia, SC. Each was charged with five counts of first degree burglary, one count of interference with a fire alarm, and one count of simple larceny. According to university police, the burglary charges are felonies, the other two charges are misdemeanors.

The students are being held in Clemson City jail overnight with arraignment expected Wednesday (April 4) before a university judge and a state circuit judge.

The university’s judicial process is under way, and Head Football Coach Tommy Bowden has suspended all three players from the team indefinitely.
