Clemson Dominates Virginia In Men’s Tennis, 7-0

CLEMSON, S.C.– The Clemson men’s tennis team swept doubles and singles competition to down Virginia 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. Due to rain, the match was played indoors. With the win, the Tigers improved to 9-12 overall on the season and 2-2 in the ACC.

In doubles competition, the Tigers won all three matches to capture the point. The duo of Goran Sterijovski and Damiisa Robinson won at No. 1 while brothers Micah and Nathan Thompson won at No. 2. With their victory, Sterijovksi and Robinson improved their doubles record to 12-2 on the year and 2-0 in the ACC. Marko Gojanovic and Sander Koning also picked up a win for the Tigers as they were victorious at No. 3.

The Tigers continued their dominance over the Cavaliers by winning all six singles matches. Sterijovksi won at No. 1, Jamin Thompson was victorious at No. 2, Micah Thompson held down the No. 3 position, and Gojanovic won at No. 4. Koning and Robinson rounded out the lineup and were victorious in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions respectively.

The Tigers will next be in action this Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech.

News
