Clemson Diving to Compete at NCAA Zone Championships

CLEMSON, SC – Leslie Hasselbach and the Clemson divers will travel to Atlanta, GA for the NCAA Zone B Championship meet from March 12-14 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Four divers will compete for a spot at the NCAA Championships that will be held in Lafayette, IN for the women and Columbus, OH for the men. Results can be followed at DiveMeets.com.

In order to qualify for the zone championships, each diver must reach a specified score during the season based on the event. In the meet, divers will qualify for the NCAA Championships based on their finish in the zone meet. There can be seven men and eight women that can move on to the NCAA Championships out of the Zone B Championships.

Senior David Giambra will represent Clemson’s men. He is the school record holder in all three diving events. He has qualified for both the one and three-meter events.

On the women’s side, sophomores Brooke George and Cassie Self along with freshman Elizabeth Tatum will travel to Atlanta to compete. George and Tatum qualified in both the one and three-meter events and Self will compete on the one-meter.

The competition will get underway Friday with the women’s one-meter prelims at 11:00 a.m. and the finals at 1:15 p.m. The men will then compete on the three-meter with the prelims starting at 3:30 p.m. and the finals at 5:45 p.m.
