Clemson Defeats UNC-Greensboro 6-1

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s tennis team won its 11th consecutive match today with a 6-1 victory over UNC-Greensboro in a men’s intercollegiate tennis match at Clemson, SC Tuesday evening.

With the win, Clemson improves to 11-0 overall, while UNC-Greensboro falls to 6-2 this season. The 11-0 start is the third best start for a Clemson men’s tennis team in the history of Tiger tennis. The 1969 Clemson Team finished the year with a 16-0 record for the best start in school history. The 1962 team won 12 matches to start that season for the second best beginning of a season at Clemson.

The Tigers’ Kevin Galloway won his 14th match of the season today as he defeated Jacob Wright of UNC-Greensboro 6-1, 6-2 at number three singles. Galloway has a 14-6 record overall and a 10-1 record in dual match play. Carlos Alvarez both won their 11th singles match of the season.

Clemson will play host to Central Florida on March 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoke Sloan Center in the Tigers¹ next action.
