Clemson defeats Maryland 7-0 in men’s tennis

COLLEGE PARK, MD-Clemson defeated Maryland 7-0 in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis match at College Park, MD Saturday afternoon.

Clemson, ranked 24th in the latest ITA national poll, improves its record to 22-8 on the year and 4-3 in the ACC.

The Tigers’ Nathan Thompson won at number one singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Troy Demars of Maryland. Thompson is now 22-7 on the year in singles.

He also won at number one doubles with Ryan Young as the duo defeated the Terrapins’ Ian Bliss and Demers 8-5.

Clemson will play at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA on Monday April 11, in the Tigers’ next action.
