Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (14-14, 3-12 ACC) is coming off an 80-47 road loss to No. 4/7 Florida State in Tallahassee. Sophomore Danielle Edwards was in double figures in scoring with 11 points in the contest.
  • Clemson went down to the wire against No. 7/6 Notre Dame on Feb. 16 in Littlejohn Coliseum, falling 84-80. It was tied for Notre Dame’s smallest margin of victory this season.
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads the Tigers in scoring (12.3 ppg) and assists (2.9 apg).
  • Sophomore Aliyah Collier has become a double-double machine this season, recording her eighth of the season at Miami on Feb. 12. Collier is averaging a near double-double in ACC play (10.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg). She ranks sixth in the ACC in rebounding at 8.2 rpg.
  • Edwards has started every game for the Tigers at the point guard position and is third on the team in scoring at 9.7 ppg. She leads the team in steals (1.9 spg) and in minutes played per game (32.2).
  • Junior Ivy Atkism was named to the 2017 All-State WBCA Good Works Team on Feb. 7, which rewards student-athletes for community service. She is the first Clemson basketball player, male or female, to earn the honor.
  • Clemson won its first eight games of the season, the program’s best start since the 1998-99 season. The Tigers entered ACC play with an 11-2 record, the program’s best nonconference record since the 2003-04 season. 

Series Information:

  • Clemson leads the all-time series against Georgia Tech with a 44-34 record.
  • The most recent meeting between the two teams was an exciting 62-61 victory for the Tigers earlier this season, on Jan. 29 at Littlejohn Coliseum. Aliyah Collier posted a double-double in the contest with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Ten of her 21 points were scored over the final 3:47, which included two three-point plays and a 4-for-4 performance from the free throw line.
