CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) – Chris Hobbs scored 13 points and Ray Henderson added 10 to lead Clemson to an 83-54 win over Coastal Carolina on Friday night.

Thirteen of 14 Tigers scored for Clemson (5-1).

The Tigers limited the Chanticleers to 36 percent shooting from the field and forced 24 turnovers.

Edward Scott, Chey Christie, Tomas Nagys, and Jemere Hendrix all added nine points each for the Tigers.

The Tigers shot 53 percent in the first half and 48 percent for the game.

Clemson was 24-of-32 from the line, while Coastal Carolina was just 8-of-14.

Through six games, the Tigers have made more free throws at 109 than their opponents have attempted, 106.

The Tigers won the boards, 40-32, but the Chanticleer’s (1-3) Anthony Susnjara was the game’s top rebounder with eight.

Five Clemson players grabbed five or more rebounds while Henderson led Clemson with seven.

Coastal Carolina was led by Brandon Newby with 13 points and Derrick Robinson with 12. The Chaticleers still haven’t beat Clemson, dropping to 0-4.

After the Tigers increased their lead to 30 with 17:16 left to play, the Chanticleers put together a 10-0 run.

But Coastal Carolina could get no closer than 20 points the rest of the way.

Clemson led 44-17 at the half.

In the first half, Clemson limited Coastal to 27 percent from the field and forced 11 turnovers.

The first half ended with a confrontation between Hobbs and Coastal’s Alvin Green.

The officials and both coaches got between Hobbs and Green before the situation escalated. Both players were accessed fouls for the incident.
