Clemson and #15 Wake Forest Play To A 0-0 Tie

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Clemson and 15th-ranked Wake Forest played to a 0-0 overtime tie in a men’s Atlantic Coast Conference soccer match at Spry Stadium at Winston-Salem, NC Wednesday night.

Clemson is now 5-4-2 overall, and 0-4-1 in the ACC. Wake Forest is now 8-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in league play.

Clemson goalkeeper Phil Marfuggi was brilliant throughout the match. The junior finished with a season-high nine saves and posted his second shutout of the season. Wake Forest goalkeeper Brian Edwards was equal to every Tiger task as well. The sophomore recorded four saves and posted his sixth shutout of the season and 15th of his career.

Clemson will play host to Winthrop on Sunday, October 16, at 2:00 p.m. in the Tigers’ next action.
