Carson Picks Up Ninth Solo Shutout

CLEMSON, S.C. — Freshman Heather Beem scored one goal and assisted on another in leading eighth-ranked Clemson to a 3-0 win over UNC-Greensboro in a intercollegiate women’s soccer match at Clemson, SC Tuesday night.

With the win, Clemson improves to 10-3-1 overall, while UNC Greensboro drops to 7-8 on the season. The Lady Tigers are ranked eighth in the Soccer America poll and ninth in the NSCAA listing.

Beem has scored three goals and has four assists this season. Audria Lyons and Alison Burpee also had goals for the Lady Tigers this evening :26 seconds apart.

Clemson goalkeeper Katie Carson picked up her ninth solo shutout of the season. This year she has only given up eight goals.

Clemson will play at Maryland on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Lady Tigers’ next action. UNC-Greensboro will play host to Western Carolina on October 17 at Greensboro in the Spartans’ last regular season home match this season.
