California Defeats Clemson Swimming & Diving

Athens, GA – The Clemson women’s swimming and diving team lost to California 171-107 Saturday in Athens, GA. Mandy Commons grabbed the Tigers’ lone event victory with a time of 1:05.87 in the 100 breast.

Lindsey Kroeger took second in the 100 back with a time of 57.33 and the 100 free with a time of 52.41. Courtney Humes finished second in the 100 fly with a time of 57.10 and Kate Walker placed second in the 200 back with a time of 2:06.59.

Kim Routh was runner-up in the 1000 free with a time of 10:12.65 and the 500 free with a time of 5:02.55. Ashley Shafer placed second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:23.47 and the 200 free relay team of Humes, Christine Woodruff, Elise Thieler and Jenna Burtch placed second with a time of 1:37.84 in the last of the swimming events.

In one-meter diving, Jessica Watcke, Amy Tolley and Shastin Leathers finished in the 2-3-4 spots. Leathers took second and Watcke third in the three-meter event.

Clemson swimming and diving will next travel to Columbia, SC on Friday, November 8, to take on South Carolina.
