GREENSBORO, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference released its 10th annual ACC Women’s Basketball Legends list on Wednesday, naming Bobbie Mims Felder as the representative from Clemson. The Legends will be honored during the 2014 ACC Tournament in Greensboro, NC from March 5-9. Felder was a member of the 2001 Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame class, and still ranks among the best in school history in career assists (1st, 617), games started (1st, 121), steals (6th, 224), points (9th, 1,448) and rebounds (11th, 630). From the ACC Official Release: “The Legends will be honored at the annual ACC Women’s Basketball Legends’ Luncheon on Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m., and then will be introduced to the Coliseum crowd at halftime of the first semifinal game that evening. The ACC Women’s Basketball Legends program honors both players and coaches from each of the ACC’s 15 schools who have contributed to the league’s rich tradition. Mims was a second-team All-ACC selection in 1978 after averaging 12.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. She started 121 of 126 games in her career and played alongside all-time ACC leading scorer and rebounder Barbara Kennedy for two seasons. Mims was inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, and still ranks among the best in school history in career assists (1st, 617), games started (1st, 121), steals (6th, 224), points (9th, 1,448) and rebounds (11th, 630). She spent 25 years as the Director of Admissions, Recruitment, Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Counselor, Registrar at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (SC) and 15 years as the Vice President for Student Services at the University. Her son, Brad Felder, graduated from the Citadel before transferring to Clemson and playing baseball as an everyday outfielder for the Tigers in 2012.
