Q: How did you end up at Clemson?Edmond: I was first committed to coach (Mike Reed) at NC State, and after their staff was let go, coach Reed asked for me to come with him to Clemson.

Q: Was it hard being from near Columbia?Edmond: No, it was not hard at all. I wasn’t really a fan of USC and visited Clemson more.

Q: Why are you interested in graphic communications?Edmond: I like to design and put my own personal touch on things. I like the overall process from brainstorming to production/designing to seeing the actual finished product of things.

Q: How did you end up interning in the athletic department and how has it been?Edmond: As I was looking for internships in the Clemson/Greenville area so I can stay close to Clemson for football purposes, I applied to many businesses for an internship. Eventually, I got an email from the communications department in Clemson athletics, applied quickly and got the job.

Q: What have you learned/worked on?Edmond: I have learned new skills as far as designing goes in both Photoshop and Illustrator. I have also learned how to work in a business atmosphere and overall working with many types of personalities.

Q: Is there anything you’re still hoping to do?Edmond: I still have a few ongoing projects and I am looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Q: As an athlete, what impact do graphics have on you?Edmond: Graphics has the impact to show others and me a lot. In this day and age, graphics of some sort are everywhere and they help others in a tremendous way. It can be as simple as a graphic that shows fans where the restroom is or a map to the entire stadium. Graphics are also important for sharing information for companies and businesses. The more a company builds its brand with the help of graphics, it will lead to more success they can bring to the table.

Q: How does having an athlete’s perspective affect your work? Are there certain aspects that you’re more interested in?Edmond: By being an athlete and also a young person, I can help with reaching my age group and catching their attention by having up-to-date ideas and putting them into a form that will connect with athletes, and in general, young people.

Q: Are you able to apply a lot of what you’ve learned in class or has it been more on the job?Edmond: I have applied what I learned in class to the job and enhanced and learned new skills while being on the job.

Q: How has your perspective on the athletic department, college sports and all the behind-the-scenes aspects changed?Edmond: My perspective has changed a lot. I look at certain things that I see around campus and like to think about how it was made or produced.

Q: What’s been the hardest or most impactful lesson you’ve learned since coming to Clemson?Edmond: It’s been a few things – to have great time management, study and to take advantage of all the resources here at Clemson.

Q: What $100-or-less purchase in the past year has been the most valuable to you?Edmond: Apple TV. It allows me to watch movies and listen to music.

Q: Is a hot dog a sandwich? Why or why not?Edmond: I think a hot dog is a hot dog. You couldn’t go to a strictly sandwich restaurant and ask for a hot dog because it’s not a sandwich.
