Clemson announced Wednesday that seven baseball games in 2005 will be televised, including six on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast. Both home games against South Carolina (March 12, April 13), two home games against Georgia Tech (April 29,30), and two home games against Miami (FL) (May 19,20) will all be televised by CSS. The regular-season finale against Miami on May 21 will also be televised by the Regional Sports Network, which includes FSN South. The Tigers will open their season against West Virginia on February 18 at Myrtle Beach, SC.

Clemson is ranked #23 in the Preseason Baseball Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches’ poll, released Wednesday. The Tigers have now been ranked in all 12 preseason coaches’ poll dating back to the first one in 1993. There was no preseason coaches’ poll in 1994. The Tigers, who were 39-26 a season ago, were also ranked #21 in Collegiate Baseball’s 2005 preseason poll. Texas holds the top spot in the Sports Weekly poll, followed by Cal. State-Fullerton, Miami (FL), Louisiana State, and Tulane. Clemson is one of five ACC teams in the top 25, including Miami (#3), North Carolina (#11), Georgia Tech (#15), and #19 Florida State.
