‘Ask The Tigers’ Back To Form

April 5, 2001

Clemson, S.C.–Every week ClemsonTigers.com, the official athletic website of Clemson University, conducts a question and answer session with the most influential and interesting personalities in Clemson Athletics with the interactive feature “Ask The Tigers”.

“Ask The Tigers” is a feature on the web site that allows fans to present questions via email to people who are directly and indirectly associated with Clemson athletics.

Selected questions are taken from the pool of emailed questions and are used in an interview of the featured person for the particular week. The questions and answers are posted on ClemsonTigers.com every Thursday.

The Features section of the ClemsonTigers.com front page is the location for you to find out the latest guest.

This week’s “Ask The Tigers” guest is Coach Jim Davis. Davis became the third women’s basketball coach in Clemson history on April 1, 1987, another illustrious step in a career that has seen him excel on every level of coaching from junior high school to head coaching at a major college. The decision by the administration proved to be one of the most solid decisions ever made as Coach Davis has taken the Lady Tigers to the NCAA Tournament in 13 of his 14 years, won ACC regular season and tournament championships, and have finished in the top 25 in 11 of Coach Davis’ 14 years here at Clemson including the school’s first top 10 finish in 1999.

This year’s Lady Tigers battled adversity during the year and made an outstanding run in the latter part of the season to finish second in the ACC and another top 25 final ranking. The Lady Tigers received a 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament and defeated the Lady Mocs of UT-Chattanooga in the first round before running into a Xavier team that wound up knocking off the top-seeded Lady Volunteers of Tennessee and advancing to the Elite Eight. Nevertheless, the Tigers had a fantastic season and made the Clemson faithful proud once again. Jim is looking forward to taking your questions, so get them in to “Ask The Tigers” and he will post his answers on Thursday, April 12.
