Alabama-Birmingham Defeats Clemson In Women’s Soccer Exhibition, 3-2

FAYETTEVILLE, GA – Alabama-Birmingham scored three unanswered goals and defeated Clemson 3-2 in an exhibition women’s soccer match at Fayetteville, GA Sunday afternoon.

Clemson scored in the first 10 minutes of the match and took a 1-0 lead as Lindsay Brown scored on an assist by Deliah Arrington. After the Blazers scored three goals, Heather Beem scored the Lady Tigers’ second goal from an another assist by Arrington with five minutes left in the match.

The Lady Tigers will open the 2002 season on Friday, August 30, as Clemson will play Georgia in Athens, GA.

“Other than the outcome, I am optimistic about what we showed today,” said Clemson Head Coach Todd Bramble. “I look forward to opening the regular season Friday.”
