Sumpter helped the Tigers to an unbeaten record last week, including a 2-1 overtime upset of 18th-ranked Duke. The junior from Avondale Estates, GA assisted on the tying goal against Georgia Southern on Oct. 19 in the 87th minute. Three days later, he tallied the game-winner in the 97th minute in the first overtime period to lead Clemson to a 2-1 upset win over the Blue Devils. He garnered ACC Player of the Week honors for the performances. Sumpter currently leads the Tigers in goals scored this season with four, while his goal against the Blue Devils marked his second game-winner this season.
