AgSouth Homegrown Athlete of the Week – Molly Franklin

Molly Franklin scored the game-winning goal in the 20th-ranked Lady Tigers’ upset win over seventh-ranked South Carolina on Friday at Riggs Field. The sophomore from Frederick, MD nailed an eight-yard shot past the Gamecock goalkeeper to give Clemson the 1-0 victory.

Franklin has two goals and eight assists for 12 points on the season. She leads the NCAA in assists per game, with a 1.0 assists per game average. She currently ranks first in Clemson record books in assists per game in a single season and is just six assists away from breaking the Lady Tigers’ single-season record of 13 assists set by Sheri Bueter in 1994.
