On January 22nd, members of the Clemson University women’s basketball team came to Pickens Elementary School. During a character assembly for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, the athletes taught the students what it means to be a “T.I.G.E.R.” (Teamwork, Integrity, Gratitude, Education, and Respect).
The students participated in several skits planned by the athletes, and were invited to “Pickens Elementary Night” at the Clemson vs. Duke basketball game that Thursday. In addition, the PES Chorus was honored to perform the National Anthem during the pregame festivities that night.
Thanks, Clemson University, for providing our students with memories and lessons they won’t soon forget!
