20th-Ranked Lady Tiger Soccer Team to Face #23 Long Beach State Friday Night

Clemson, SC – The 20th-ranked Clemson women’s soccer team will face 23rd-ranked Long Beach State on Friday night. The match, which will be held at Riggs Field on the Clemson campus, is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

The Lady Tigers, ranked 20th by the NSCAA, improved to 2-0 on the season with a 5-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Wednesday night in Clemson. Senior Nuria Zufia netted two goals for the Lady Tigers, while Molly Franklin, Megan Smith and Katie Vogel added one apiece. Courtney Foster tallied two assists in the match. Clemson opened the regular season with a 4-0 home win over Liberty last Friday night.

Long Beach State, ranked 23rd according to Soccer Buzz, is 2-1 on the season, most recently dropping a 1-0 decision to #24 Wake Forest on Wednesday evening in Winston-Salem. The 49ers defeated Cal. State Bakersfield (5-0) and Utah (1-0) to open the season.

This will be the first meeting between Clemson and Long Beach State on the soccer field.
