#13 Tigers Look For 10th Straight Win Against Ninth-Ranked Miami On Saturday

CLEMSON, SC -­ The Tiger women’s tennis team, ranked 13th in the ITA poll, will host #9 Miami in ACC action on Saturday at 10:30 am. The match features head-to-head competition between Clemson’s Julie Coin, ranked #2, and #1 Megan Bradley of the Hurricanes. Coin is 28-2 overall and 19-0 in dual matches, while Bradley boasts a 37-1 overall record and a 18-0 mark in dual action.

Clemson (14-6, 5-1 ACC), who has won its last nine matches, and Miami (17-2, 8-0 ACC) will meet for the first time as conference foes and for the 18th time in history. The Hurricanes hold a 13-4 advantage in the series score and lead the Tigers, 5-1, in matches played in Clemson. The last contest played at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center was in 2000 when Clemson, unranked at the time, upset #27 Miami, 6-3. The schools last met during the 2001 season in Miami, FL, where the Hurricanes edged the Tigers, 4-3.

The Tigers will face #34 Florida State on Sunday in another ACC match-up. Clemson leads the Seminoles, 20-8, in the series score and is 9-2 in home matches against Florida State. In 2003, the last time the two teams met in Clemson, the Tigers defeated the Seminoles, 6-1. Clemson posted the win against Florida State during the 2004 meeting in Tallahassee, FL, 4-3. Sunday’s match is scheduled to begin at 12 pm.
