#10 Clemson Downs Boston College on Saturday

CHESTNUT HILL, MA – The Clemson women’s tennis team won its seventh straight match overall and fifth straight in conference in a 6-1 win over Boston College (5-12, 1-7 ACC). The Tigers (18-3, 6-1 ACC) won both matches this weekend on the road, and will play two top-five ranked teams next weekend.

The Tigers are now 6-1 in road matches on the season, the third-most road wins in a single season during Nancy Harris’ tenure.

The Tigers swept the doubles point with the ninth-ranked duo of Bek and Hadziselimovic prevailing, 8-4. Laurianne Henry teamed up to win, 8-2 at flight two, and the freshman tandem of Magnusson and Ciolkowski won their fourth match together, 8-5 at flight three.

#24 Bek was the first to win a singles match, taking a 6-1, 6-3 decision at flight one over Alex Kelleher. Caroline Magnusson continued her strong play with a 6-3, 6-2 win at flight six.

#53 Ina Hadziselimovic and #76 Nelly Ciolkowski each won their seventh straight decision at flights three and four, respectively. BC’s Olga Khmylev had the Eagles’ only win, a 6-3, 6-4 win at flight five.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday at 11:00 am with a dual match with #1 North Carolina at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. Clemson will turn around and play #4 Duke the following day at noon.
